Meet Dr. Dutta | Hunt Valley Orthodontist

Dr. Richa Dutta

Dr. Richa Dutta

Who is Dr. Dutta – an orthodontist, entrepreneur, mother, wife, avid reader, community leader & advocate for fellow orthodontists and patients.

Why Choose Dr. Dutta

  • Orthodontics is her passion, her calling. She started her dental journey with dental school in India and by the time she was a 4th year dental student, she knew that designing beautiful smiles gave her the deepest satisfaction. She came to the United States to pursue Orthodontics– with that goal in mind, she did an Advanced Standing Program at University of Southern California (becoming a diehard Trojan fan) and then her Masters’ in Orthodontics at Boston University.
  • She is compassionate. She is a tech geek when it comes to the latest in orthodontics. Dr. Dutta attends over 30-40 hours of continuing education courses every year in order to provide patients with rockstar options. After all the “goop” impressions she had over her dental career, she promised herself that she would try to provide a better experience for her patients – hence the digital scan instead of impressions all across our office. She is one of the few providers in the country that offer InBrace – a lingual option for the busy patient who wants an invisible experience. Furthermore, she has treated patients with airway concerns with surgical techniques that are less invasive than traditional surgery.
  • She is an advocate for her patients. On top of supporting her patients in the office, she is a past delegate to the American Association of Orthodontists, past President of Maryland State Society of Orthodontists, consultant to the Council on Benefits for AAO, and can always be found doing volunteer work for the community events or to help younger colleagues. She has helped multiple high school and college students get a glimpse of dentistry as a career, and runs an internship program to provide opportunities to students in the community.
